Solar Frontier Announces A Total of 20+ Megawatts of Projects with Cypress Creek Renewables

Solar Frontier selected for 3rd project in Indiana, U.S.A by Cypress Creek Renewables.

Tokyo, December 21st, 2015 – Solar Frontier, the world’s largest CIS solar energy solutions provider, announced today that it has been chosen to supply its modules for a series of projects developed and financed by Cypress Creek Renewables, the largest and fastest growing dedicated provider of local solar farms in the U.S.A.

The three projects total over 20 MW in size and are located in and around the vicinity of Terre Haute, Indiana, U.S.A. The EPC chosen to construct the projects, Vaughn Industries, is one of the nation’s leading electrical/mechanical contractors. Construction has begun on the first two projects, Pastime and McDonald, which Solar Frontier announced in October 2015. The new third project, Sullivan, is currently in the pre-construction phase.

Charles Pimentel, COO of Solar Frontier Americas, said, “Cypress Creek Renewables has chosen Solar Frontier for these projects because of our CIS modules' strong performance in low light conditions common to this region of the country and ultimately its ability to outperform crystalline in real-world conditions.”

“Solar Frontier’s CIS technology met or exceeded our performance requirements, yielding the best economics and financial returns for our projects,” said Matt McGovern, CEO of Cypress Creek Renewables.

Solar project developers and long-term investors are increasingly looking to Solar Frontier’s CIS modules for their exceptional performance. In real-world conditions, they generate higher energy yield (kilowatt-hours per kilowatt-peak) compared to crystalline silicon. Solar Frontier is also a leader in manufacturing excellence, using fully automated, state-of-the-art factories in Japan to produce modules with consistent precision and the highest level of quality. To date, Solar Frontier has shipped over 3 GW of its CIS modules around the world, including supplying large-scale and award-winning projects in the U.S.A.
